The Spaniard had criticised the pundits after Man City's 3-3 draw against Tottenham
Jamie Carragher and Pep Guardiola. — REUTERS/AFPFormer Liverpool player Jamie Carragher gave a befitting reply to Manchester City's head coach Pep Guardiola after the Spaniard stated that it is not easy to win four Premier League in a row as Carragher doesn't even have one. After a six-goal thriller at Etihad Stadium, Guardiola called out Carragher and his fellow Sky Sports pundits named Gary Neville and others after some accused Man City of complacency.
The Spaniard emphasised that Man City are trying to write history by aiming fourth consecutive PL title, something that even Neville in Manchester United's peak time couldn't do."Gary Neville knows how difficult it is otherwise he would've won four Premier Leagues in the best period of Manchester United," Guardiola said."But he didn't do it. Maybe they accuse us of complacency because they felt complacency [at United]. Maybe they felt it. This team so far, no chance."Jamie Carragher didn't win one. Micah Richards didn't win four Premier Leagues in a row. Never, ever. It's never happened.Carragher responded to Guardiola's comments by hitting out at the Man City boss saying that even he could've won the league if Liverpool were backed by a nation-state."I think I’d have probably won one if Liverpool were owned by a nation state, and pushed the rules so far that the PL charged us 115 times!!" Carragher posted on X, formerly Twitter.
It is worth mentioning that a whopping 115 cases are pending for Man City who have had countless Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches in the last six to seven years. There had also been discussions about the English giants relegating to the Championship but there has been no development on that issue.
